The purpose of this organization is to provide an environment where area high school students may participate and compete in FIRST Robotics Competitions and in doing so foster positive skills of teamwork, leadership, and communication. Additionally, students will be educated in many science, technology, engineering, and mathematics topics and various trade and/or shop skills.
We are a seventh-year FRC team from Northern Idaho. Our objectives are mainly to promote FIRST and help students apply their skills and work together in a company-like environment. Participants leave with additional skills in disciplines from machining, design, and computer science to business, photography, and teaching. What one can do in robotics is only limited to one's ability to apply creative skills and an open mindset.
Community involvement is a key component of a successful FIRST team. Team 3513 volunteers with Rathdrum's BackPack Nutrition program to help feed kids on the weekends, judges inventions at Invent Idaho, mentors younger FLL teams, and runs an interactive booth at the Regional Invent Idaho to name a few.
